Noah Homes: An Oasis of Peace

About Noah Homes

The generosity of Walter Fitch III and the vision of Sister Kathryn Jennings (of the order of Benedictine Nuns) combined to make Noah Homes a reality in 1983.  Sister Kathryn charted the course as director for twenty-three years while Walter’s support made the acclaimed standard of excellence of Noah Homes possible. Although Noah Homes, Inc. maintains its Catholicity, Noah Homes provides services to people of all faiths. All assets of Noah Homes are owned and controlled by Noah Homes, Inc. and are restricted to be used for the care of persons with special needs.

The main residential complex is located on eleven acres, two additional homes are within walking distance and all homes are designed to support and nurture persons with developmental disabilities. Noah Homes is very different from the stereotypical residential “facility”. The community emphasis is of utmost importance, as well as the concept of home. The lush landscaping provides an oasis-like setting that rivals mainstream housing developments. Each home in the Noah Homes community boasts patio and barbecue areas as well as convenient access to its community center and park area, named for benefactor, Walter Fitch, III. Some of the homes have been likened to bed and breakfast inns, with each home having bedroom suites as well as community kitchen and living room areas; while others are single family homes.

Noah Homes, Inc. is licensed by the State of California to provide residential care for people with developmental disabilities. It is a nonprofit organization with 501 (c) (3) status.
